Our founder
Prof. Jerono P. Rotich
Visit Prof. Rotich's websiteAn educator, global leader, scholar, mentor, speaker, and advocate whose career reflects a longstanding commitment to education, leadership development, resilience, wellness, and the empowerment of women and youth.
Born and raised in rural Kenya before building an academic and professional career in the United States, Prof. Rotich understands personally the transformative power of education, mentorship, resilience, opportunity, and supportive communities. That journey informs her conviction that geography, gender, socioeconomic circumstances, or adversity should never determine the limits of a person's potential.
As a Professor of Kinesiology, she brings extensive experience in higher education, academic leadership, organizational development, international engagement, and community-based initiatives — including senior administrative roles in faculty affairs and in organizational climate, inclusion, and belonging, and participation in the American Council on Education (ACE) Fellows Program.
Through Kenyan Students in Diaspora (KESID), she connects, mentors, and supports Kenyan students pursuing education abroad. Through JVV Wellness, she advances holistic well-being and resilience. At the heart of her work is a commitment to women, girls, students, and young people navigating significant transitions and barriers — helping each person move forward with dignity, purpose, and hope.
Her contributions to education, leadership, service, and community engagement have received national and international recognition, including the U.S. President's Lifetime Achievement Award in 2024.
My own journey has taught me that where you begin does not have to determine where you end. Education opened doors for me, but mentors, resilience, relationships, and people who believed in my potential helped me walk through those doors.
